How it works:
- Install and activate the plugin
- Connect your WordPress site to CookieTrust.io
- Select or create a cookie configuration
- Enable the widget to display the consent banner
External Services
This plugin connects to CookieTrust.io to provide cookie consent management functionality.
When you connect your site:
- Your WordPress site URL is sent to CookieTrust.io to configure the consent widget
- An OAuth token is stored locally to authenticate API requests
- The consent widget JavaScript is loaded from
cmp.cookietrust.io
Data processed by CookieTrust.io:
- Visitor consent preferences (accept/reject choices)
- Analytics data if enabled (consent rates, page views)
Connection is opt-in: No data is sent to external services until you explicitly connect your site via the “Connect to CookieTrust” button in the plugin settings.
