**FAQSmith** is a simple, powerful, and accurate AI-powered FAQ generator for WordPress.

It reads your page or post content and instantly generates clean, meaningful FAQs
using AI.
 You can edit, reorder, or add manual FAQs — then display them anywhere
using a block or shortcode.

### External Services

This plugin connects to the external service https://api.openai.com in order to 
generate FAQ questions and answers using AI.

When FAQs are generated, the plugin sends the following data to the OpenAI API:

The plain-text content of the current post or page (used as source material to generate
FAQs) – Basic prompt instructions (for example, how many FAQs to generate and the
desired style)

No user account data, email addresses, or other personal information are sent by
the plugin. The content is sent only when the site admin explicitly clicks the “
Generate FAQs with AI” action in the editor or settings.

Service Provider:
 OpenAI API endpoint: https://api.openai.com/v1/chat/completions
Terms of Use: https://openai.com/policies/terms-of-use Privacy Policy: https://openai.
com/policies/privacy-policy

The service is required only for the AI generation feature. Manual FAQs and schema
output continue to work without an API key.

### How It Works

 1. Write or edit a post/page
 2. Open the **FAQSmith – Auto FAQ Generator** meta box
 3. Click **Generate FAQs with AI**
 4. Edit or reorder FAQs
 5. Insert the **FAQSmith – FAQs** block _or_ place the `[faqsmith]` shortcode

The plugin automatically adds the accordion layout **and** JSON-LD Schema when FAQs
appear on the page.

### Is the plugin free?

Yes. The free version allows up to 3 AI-generated FAQs per post.
 Manual FAQs are
unlimited.

### Do I need to pay for AI?

No. You supply your own OpenAI API key.
 OpenAI offers free or low-cost usage.

### Does this plugin generate FAQ Schema?

Yes — JSON-LD FAQ Schema is added automatically _only when FAQs are displayed_.

### Does it work with Elementor, Divi, Bricks, etc.?

Yes. The block and shortcode work with all editors and page builders.

### Will regenerating FAQs delete my manual ones?

Yes — and the plugin clearly warns you before overwriting.

### Does FAQSmith track anything?

No tracking, no external requests except the AI call.
