The plugin does not include the chatbot AI service locally. It loads the TAPNET chatbot service after a site administrator enables the plugin and saves a valid install token. Use it to add a TAPNET-powered website chatbot that can answer visitor questions, collect lead details, and route conversations through TAPNET Lead Engine. #### External service disclosure This plugin connects to the TAPNET service at `https://account.tapnet.com`. When the chatbot is enabled, the plugin loads a TAPNET script from: ``` https://account.tapnet.com/modules/addons/tapnet_assistant/assets/site-loader.js ``` The script resolves the saved install token with: ``` https://account.tapnet.com/modules/addons/tapnet_assistant/api/site-install.php ``` The chatbot may send the following data to TAPNET so the service can respond to visitors and create lead records: * Install token * Page URL and referring URL * Visitor chat messages * Visitor name, email, or phone number when voluntarily entered in the chat * Basic browser request metadata normally sent with web requests A TAPNET account, active TAPNET service, and website install token are required. Upload the plugin files to `/wp-content/plugins/tapnet-ai-chatbot`, or install the plugin zip from the WordPress admin plugin screen. 2. Activate the plugin. 3. Go to Settings > TAPNET AI Chatbot. 4. Paste the Website Install token from TAPNET Lead Engine. 5. Check Enable Chatbot. 6. Save the settings and refresh the public website. ## FAQ ### Do I need a TAPNET account? Yes. This plugin connects WordPress to the TAPNET AI Website Chatbot service and requires an active TAPNET account and install token. ### Does the plugin contact external servers? Yes. After the site administrator enables the chatbot and saves an install token, the plugin loads TAPNET service scripts from `account.tapnet.com` and sends chatbot conversation data to TAPNET so the chatbot can respond. ### Does the plugin add a TAPNET link to my website? Only if you opt in. The TAPNET Footer Credit setting is off by default. ### What happens if my TAPNET subscription is inactive? The TAPNET service will not return an active chatbot configuration, and the widget will not load. ### Can I hide the chatbot on specific pages? Yes.
