Ekom SEO Toolkit bundles a set of local SEO tools into a single WordPress plugin. Everything runs on your own server: no account to create, no license key to enter, no usage limits.
Site tools (wp-admin):
- Broken Link Detector — scans posts and pages for dead links
- Canonical URL Checker — flags canonical tags that don’t point at themselves
- Image Alt Text Auditor — finds media library images missing alt text
- Large Image Detector — finds images over 500KB

A Site Audit dashboard aggregates results from every enabled scanner into one combined report. Every module can be toggled on or off individually from Settings.

External Services
This plugin relies on one external service, used by a single optional feature:
Broken link checking (Broken Link Detector module)
This plugin scans your published posts and pages for hyperlinks, then sends HTTP requests to each linked URL to check whether the link is broken (returns a 404, 500, or similar error). This is the core function of the Broken Link Detector module.
What data is sent: An HTTP request to every external URL that appears as a hyperlink in your published post and page content. Links to your own site are checked locally against your database and uploads folder and usually need no request. Results are reused for 24 hours, so the same URL is not requested repeatedly. The request includes a user-agent header (“Ekom SEO Toolkit Broken Link Detector/1.0”) but no personal data, cookies, or authentication credentials.
When data is sent: Only when a broken link scan is triggered — manually from the Broken Links dashboard page, or automatically once a week if the optional weekly scan setting is enabled (disabled by default).
Where requests are sent: Whatever external URLs appear in your own post and page content — third-party sites you have linked to. The plugin does not control these destinations, and the terms of service of those sites apply to the request.
No other module in this plugin makes outbound HTTP requests or transmits data to any external service.

Does this require an account or license key?
No. Every feature in this plugin runs locally and is free, with no account and no usage limits.
Does any data leave my site?
Only the Broken Link Detector’s link-checking feature makes outbound requests, and only to URLs that already appear as links in your own post/page content — see External Services below. Nothing else in the plugin contacts an external server.
