Zavu connects your WordPress site to the Zavu messaging platform. One connection powers every notification:
- Order updates to customers. Confirmed and completed WooCommerce orders, sent by SMS today and automatically upgraded to WhatsApp once your WhatsApp Business account is active.
- Owner alerts. A message to your phone for every new order and every form lead (Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms).
- Consent built in. An opt-in checkbox at checkout, on by default.
- An activity log with delivery statuses, and a dashboard widget with your monthly usage and balance.
Sends are queued in the background and never slow down your checkout. Every send carries an idempotency key, so duplicate hooks can never double-message a customer.
External service
This plugin sends data to the Zavu API (https://api.zavu.dev) to deliver messages on your behalf. Data transmitted: the recipient phone number, the message text you configured, and technical metadata (your site hostname, an idempotency key). Connecting requires a Zavu account. - Install and activate the plugin.
- Open the Zavu page and click “Connect with Zavu” (or paste an API key from the dashboard).
- Send yourself a test message.
- Turn on the notification recipes you want.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. A free Zavu account includes starter credit, enough to try SMS notifications. Usage beyond the free tier is billed by Zavu, not by this plugin.

Does it work with WhatsApp?

Yes. Connect your WhatsApp Business account from the Zavu dashboard. Meta requires a payment method and template approval, which takes a few days; your notifications keep flowing by SMS in the meantime and upgrade automatically.

Does it slow down my checkout?

No. Messages are dispatched from a background queue (Action Scheduler when available), never inline in the request.
